Mr. James Fred Eads, 89, of 305 Cadle Ford Road, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Mr. Eads was born January 27, 1918, in Surry County, to the late Conse Lee and Lethia Maude Dollyhigh Eads.

He served our country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Eads was retired from Renfro Corporation and attended Flat Rock Presbyterian Church, where he had been a member for 58 years.

He is survived by his wife, Levia Midkiff Eads of the home; two daughters and sons–in-law, Marsha and Tony Bledsoe of Advance and Karen and Monty Vernon of Mount Airy; three grandchildren and spouses, Chad Bledsoe and fiancée, Ashley Belk, of Mount Airy, Jennifer and Jonathan Simmons of Mount Airy, and Christy and Paul Cooper of Virginia Beach, VA; three great grandchildren, Drew Cooper, Dylan Cooper, and Jake Simmons; and a sister, Lucille Eads Tate of Mount Airy.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eads was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Waugh; and three brothers, Glenn Eads, Gray Eads, and Roy Eads.

The funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Tom Bagnal, and burial will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Flat Rock Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 884, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to Arbor Acres Retirement Community, 1240 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
