Dexter was the third of eleven children born to Lonzo Refus Deaton and Martha Kennedy Deaton.After a stint in the U.S.Army in Japan, with the RED air division,he farmed in the area around Minter City Ms.retiring as Farm manager for The Buford Plantation.He was a member of the Greenwood VFW.He served as the first Fire Chief of the Minter City Volunteer Fire Dept.. He Married 1 st to Melba Sanders, they were parents of three children,.Marriage ended in divorce and he then married Mae "Pat" Watson. Dexter was preceded in death by both parents, two older sisters and four younger brothers. He was survived by his wife and children;BobbyL.Deaton of Ragley La.,son Robert L Deaton of Carrolton Ms.,son Dexter K (Buddy)Deaton Jr. of Minter City Ms.daughter Ellen Maynor of Longville La.daughter Linda Robinson of Carrolton Ms., daughter Charlotte Sewell of Minter City Ms. and younger siblings,13 Grandchildren and 7 Great grand children He will be missed by many.
