"SCHENEVUS - Lester H. Chase died at his home on Main street after several years of declining health. Funeral will be held at 3:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Tillapaugh Funeral home. The Rev. D. M. Corkwell will officiate and burial will be in Schenevus cemetery. Lester Chase was born in 1866 at Schenevus, son of Miles and Mary (Bostwick) Chase. He married Carrie Sperry, who passed away several years ago, and to them were born two sons, Foster, who died 5 years ago, and Lauran, Central Bridge, and a daughter, Mrs. Alba Farnum of Schenevus, who survive with four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Sperbeck, Richfield Springs. He operated a meat market here for many years until his health failed. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and was senior past master at the time of his death.
