Decedent was born July 17, 1845 between Franklin and Waverly. He married Miss Augusta Roberts fifty-nine years ago. They lived on a farm east of Waverly until sixteen years ago when the moved to this city.
Mr. Van Winkle was a member of Lodge No. 93, I.O.O.F. and the Sons of the American Revolution. He was also a member of the first Methodist Church of Waverly.
He is survived by the widow and three daughters, Mrs. H. E. Funk, Waverly, and the Misses Cora and Eunice Van Winkle, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the First Methodist Church, Rev. H. C. Munch officiating. Interment will be made in Waverly Cemetery.
