NO. OGDEN – Ada Bowers Olsen passed away at age 93 on Friday, January 6, 2006, after a very short illness. She was born to Charles Freeman Bowers & Ellen Elizabeth Gines Oct. 10, 1912, in Woodland, Summit County, Utah. She graduated from South Summit High School and Seminary.

She met her husband-to-be when his civil engineering work brought him to the Kamas area. They were married in Salt Lake City on Dec. 18, 1930, and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with two children, seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She loved the five-generation pictures that were recently taken. Once the children were raised, Ada and Owen literally traveled around the world relative to Owen's vocation.

The family attests to her excellent cooking and festive atmospheres for many family gatherings. Her skilled sewing abilities even included fine tailoring. She was an avid reader and loved sharing books with family and friends. After Owen passed away, Ada desired to remain in their home. There were close bonds between Ada and her family. Bob often phoned her from California and Audrey was in constant contact. Her grandchildren always had a project that needed to be done and they did it. Family and neighborhood children loved to drop by and visit. Almost always there was a treat nearby that would be shared.

As a member of the LDS Church, she held many positions including Relief Society Counselor and Stake Genealogy Secretary. She especially loved compiling family history records. Her favorite calling would have to be as a temple worker at the Ogden Temple. When she was not able to attend meetings because of her advanced age, her dear neighbors and ward members extended the church walls to include her home. Years of meals, yard work, & sundry activities were lovingly provided.

She is survived by the above mentioned descendents and preceded in death by her parents; husband, Owen; three sisters, Elva, Olive and Thelda; and three brothers, Homer, Alfonzo and Wreno.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ben Lomond LDS 10th Ward, 3352 North 1050 East, North Ogden. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Logan City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
