He came to America in 1770 with his father Jacob Dively (1734-1781) and his mother Ann______ They moved to Hagerstown, Maryland. He served in the American Revolution afterward moving to the Sproul, Pennsylvania area in 1787. He married Barbara Lingenfelter in 1779 in Haherstown, Maryland. His siblings were: 1)Martin Diveley (1756-1822) also a veteran of the American Revolution. He settled in what is now Berlin (Somerset Co.) Pennsylvania in 1784. 2)Margaret Dively (1764-1842) she married George Adam Lingenfelter about 1784 in Hagerstown, Maryland. They lived in the Claysburg, Pennsylvania area. 3)Catherine Dively (1766- ) she married Henry Hyner in 1784 in Hagerstown. She died early and her children grew up in Berlin, Pennsylvania 4) George Dively (1769-1837) He married Anna Marie Koontz and lived in Berlin, Pennsylvania. 5)Frederick Diveley (1774-1857) He married Veronica Miller lived in Berlin, Pennsylvania until 1805 when he moved to Ohio. His grave is on "Find a grave" 6) Christina Dively (1776-1856) she married John Kurtz and lived in Somerset, Pennsylvania. Her grave is also on "Find a grave" 7)John Dively (1779-) born in Hagerstown, Maryland and nothing else is known of him.
