According to Little's History of Weare Israel served as Captain in the 2nd Co 1845. He married 2 Feb 1843 in Weare to Eliza Barnard the d/o Reuben and Huldah (Eaton) Barnard. In the 1850 census he and Eliza and their 4 yr old son Edgar lived in Weare. Israel is listed as a "farmer". In 1859 at the age of 37 he was named in his father's Will and rec'd $25.00. In 1860 they were living in Hopkinton NH with Ch: Edgar, Mary Sarah and George. On the 4th of April 1869 Israel sold land to his wife's brother Samuel Barnard for $300.00. It consisted of land and buildings. By 1870 he and Eliza had relocated to Dunbarton NH where they both died. Israel died of heart disease according to his death record.
They were parents of 7 known children, 3 of whom died in infancy and are buried with them in the East Weare Cemetery (Albro, Sarah and George) (From Jane Foster)
