Dawn "Dawney" Vaughn Bowman, age 79, of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at New River Valley Medical Center.
Born Dec. 21, 1932 in Narrows, she was the daughter of the late Jake Vaughn and Elsie Gautier Vaughn.
Her husband, Rush Woodrow Bowman; two sons, Johnny Bowman and Bobby Bowman; three sisters, and one brother also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Theresa Bowman of Draper; four grandchildren, Jason Bowman and wife, Julie, Misty Rich and husband, Jimmy, Melissa Bowman and Nikki Bowman; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren and Taylor Bowman, and Devon and Hunter Rich, and sister, Louise Worrell and husband, David, of Norfolk.
A special "thank you" to her caregivers, Karen Mann and husband, Henry, for their loving and compassionate care for seven years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
The family will receive friends Saturday, 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., before service hour, at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
