Arthur H. Penfield, 82, retired town of Verona farmer, died Sunday at his home, 742 Baltzel St. after long illness.

Mr. Penfield was born in Middleton and farmed in Verona township most of his life. He moved to Madison three years ago. Mr. Penfield was a fancier of fine horses.

Survivors are his wife; four sons, Archie, Verona; Eugene Madison; Willett, Stoughton and Arthur, Dodgeville; six daughters, Susan, Ruth, Sally and Mrs. Warren Keller, Madison; Mrs. Ted Amoth, Milwaukee, and Leona Penfield, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Miles. Bayfield.

Burial will be in the Verona cemetery.
