Sylvia Mae Walters, 82, North Vernon, Ind., formerly of Russell County, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Jennings Health Care Center, North Vernon, Ind.
She was born March 20, 1924 in Russell County, Ky., the daughter of the late Cornelius and Jewrettie Frye Wilson. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include 10 children, Ramona Moore, Janice Campbell, Patsy Calvert, Johnny Steve Walters, Brenda Arbuckle, all of North Vernon, Ind., Shirley Billman, Greenfield, Ind., Jimmy Walters, Bicknell, Ind., Vickie Mendez, Greenwood, Ind., Bobby Walters, Versailles, Ind. and Michael Walters, Butlerville, Ind.; three sisters, Orpha Faulkner, Flora Foster, both of Somerset, and Betty Langley, Pleasant Garden, N.C.; a host of grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in heath by her husband, Lawrence E. Walters; three brothers, Arvil, James and Marvin Wilson; and two sisters, Lela Pyles and Roxie Tucker.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. (central time) on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at Bernard Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jay Cox officiating.
Burial will be in the Holt Cemetery.
