William "Bill" Anderson, 79, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, after a long illness. Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Bill was born Nov. 9, 1932, in Brownsboro. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, who survived the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver and was known as Black Diamond "10-4."
Survivors: Wife of 44 years, Dorothy "Jean"; children, Alan Travis, Sherry Favor, Mark Travis and wife, Janet, Randall Travis and wife, Pam; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Anderson, Jerry Anderson and wife, Linda; sister, Shelene Thompson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
