Mrs. Elizabeth Degenhardt Sand was born April 25, 1876, at Manioa, New York, and passed away May 2nd, 1931, at the age of 55 years and 7 days, at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln, following a long illness. She came from Manioa, N.Y., to Nebraska, with her parents, when a small child.
On January 1st, 1913, she was united in marriage to Ferdinand Sand, and to this union was born one son Frank, who is fourteen years old.
Besides her husband and son, who mourn her death, she leaves her father, Anton Degenhardt of Omaha; one sister, Lena Degenhardt, of Omaha; and three brothers, Fred Degenhardt of Omaha; Herman and J.J. of Crete.
Her mother preceded her in death in 1925, and one sister, Mary, preceded her in death in 1904.
Mrs. Sand's life was devoted to her family, her home, and her many friends, until the time of her illness and death. She was a member of the Town Sewing circle of Sacred Heart Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Sacred Heart church of which Mrs. Sand was a member. Father A. Mosler conducted the services. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery, beneath a beautiful blanket of floral tributes.
