NAVARRO, MIGUEL Grand Rapids Mr. Miguel Navarro, aged 83, of Grand Rapids, passed away and was reunited with his wife on Sunday, February 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel Navarro Sr. and Alicia Lara; his wife of 63 years, Isabel Mejia Navarro; son, Miguel A. Navarro; granddaughter, Serenita Navarro; and grandson, Miguel F. Navarro. He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Martin) Pena and Linda Navarro; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Navarro, Mr. and Mrs. Lara, Charlie Lara, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lara of Texas; sisters, Bertha Lara and Victoria Lara of California, Susana Lara and Dora Garcia of Texas; grandchildren, Tino, Celina, Raquel, Martina, Kristina, Rick, Rey and Venisa; great-grandchildren, Marissa, Aliciana, Andrew, Nicholas, Kevin, Joel, Evan, Gabe, Luke, Viviana, Xavier, David, Ricky, Isaias, Liliana, Isabel and Islynn; special friends of many years, Mr. Arizola, Mr. Chavez, Mr. Garza, Mr. Guevara, and Mr. Morales; also special friend, Bobby Arizola; his dog, Lobo; and many, many more special friends and family members. Miguel was the founder of El Matador Tortilla Chip Factory in 1976. Because the business was such a success, he was the recipient of several business awards. In 1963 he ran for City Commissioner of the 3rd Ward. Miguel loved to spend his time talking and talking with people, going to the casino, and fishing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 225 - 32nd Street SW, Wyoming with Fr. Steven Cron presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a rosary being held at 8 pm.
