Harry R. "Happy" Zinda passed away at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 13 days on January 23, 1988 in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 28, 1988 in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Father Dean Lensing officiating. Casketbearers were John Shikoski, Gordon Zinda, John Kaczrowski, Al Pruszynski, Ron Stelter and Douglas Stelter.

The following is the Dedication Page from the 1956 Ivanhoe High School Year Book called "Aquila".

We, the Seniors of the Ivanhoe High School dedicate this the 1956 edition of the Aquila to Harry "Happy" Zinda, who has served the citizens of this district for the past 28 years. His indomitable spirit and genial attitude has been an invaluable contribution to our sojourn in the red brick building we call our school. Seldom will you find a custodian of "Happy's" caliber - - - one who is clean, hard working and efficient, yet does not complain about having to stay up late to turn out the lights and lock up after a play, carnival, games, or a public meeting; knowing that he has to be up early the next morning so the building will be clean and warm by the time we get there. He is the man who keeps our lawn looking so good in the summer and who has our football field in such excellent playing condition in the fall. Yes, we are very happy and deem it a great privilege to respectfully dedicate this Aquila to our esteemed friend, Harry Zinda. May he carry on for for many years!
