From the Middletown Monthly Meeting (Men's minutes): 6 Nov. 1783, "Reported that Abner Longshore has mustered with the Militia." Disowned on 1 April 1784 by Quakers for being a soldier. The births of his children are not recorded in Quaker records. Shown in the 1800 census for Bucks Co. with three sons and two daughters living at home. Listed in the Middletown Twp. Tax Digest in 1798, 1799, and 1800 as a cardriver and shoemaker, with no property. By 1805 Abner had moved to Sunbury, Northumberland Co., Penn. He moved across the Susquehanna River and is recorded in the 1810 census in Northumberland, Northumberland Co., Penn. Not found in the 1820 or 1830 census. In 1840, "Abner Longshore of Cumberland County" was awarded a pension by the State of Penn. for his service in the Revolution.
