1. ABNER4 LONGSHORE (EUCLYDUS (II)3, EUCLYDUS2, ROBERT (GENT.)1 LONGSHAW/LONGSHORE) was born Abt. 1761 in Middletown Twp., Bucks Co., Penn., and died October 25, 1843 in New Cumberland, Cumberland Co., Penn.. He married SARAH POWERS Abt. 1785 in Penn., daughter of (UNKNOWN?) POWERS.

Revolutionary War soldier, 22nd Co., EF 1780 and Capt. Huston's Co., EF 1781 & NAtt 1782 (ref: Penn. Archives, Series 3, Vol. 6, pp. 115, 125, 130). From the Middletown Monthly Meeting (Men's minutes): 6 Nov. 1783, "Reported that Abner Longshore has mustered with the Militia." Disowned on 1 April 1784 by Quakers for being a soldier. The births of his children are not recorded in Quaker records. Shown in the 1800 census for Bucks Co. with three sons and two daughters living at home. Listed in the Middletown Twp. Tax Digest in 1798, 1799, and 1800 as a cardriver and shoemaker, with no property. By 1805 Abner had moved to Sunbury, Northumberland Co., Penn. He moved across the Susquehanna River and is recorded in the 1810 census in Northumberland, Northumberland Co., Penn. Not found in the 1820 or 1830 census. In 1840, "Abner Longshore of Cumberland County" was awarded a pension by the State of Penn. for his service in the Revolution. At the time, Abner was residing with the family of his son, Asher Longshore in New Cumberland, Cumberland Co., Penn. across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg, Penn. Buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Cumberland, Cumberland Co., Penn. Yet to be checked: locate the will of Abner Longshore, if it exists, in Cumberland County (not in Bucks or Northumberland Cos.), and locate his soldier's pension application in the Penn. State Archives (not in Nat'l Archives). Census: 1840

Named as "Sarah Powers" in the Bible record of her son, Isaiah Longshore. Sarah (Powers) Longshore remarried about 1844/45 to (John)? Mutchler of Shamokin, Northumberland Co., (or Shickshinny, Luzerne Co.) Penn. She died while visiting her grandson Dr. A. B. Longshore in Beaver Meadows, Carbon Co., Penn. and was buried there. Yet to be checked: locate the will of Sarah Mutchler/Muchler, if it exists, in Cumberland, Luzerne, Carbon or other Penn. county, locate the records of her 1st and 2nd marriages in JP or non-Quaker church records, and possibly her children's baptisms in non-Quaker church records.
