Grandmother Walpole liked to visit her living children and her grandchldren. I can remember well her visits by train from Rock Valley Iowa, where she lived to a somewhat bigger town of Galesburg, Illinois, where we lived. She loved to tell us about the people in her small town, especially her physician, Dr. Arthur Lincoln Lock, and what he had to say about her medical problems. How medicine has changed.
Biographical notes by F. Terry Hambrecht, M.D., grandson of Mary "Mayme" Walpole with valuable input from Lynn Winikates, granddaughter of "Mayme".
