Royalty. She was the only daughter and heir of her father Philippe I de Courtenay, titular emperor of Constantinople and Beatrice of Sicily. She married Charles I de Valois in 1301 at Saint-Cloud and bore him four children. She died after only seven years of marriage. Her gisant, made of black marble, was later moved to Saint-Denis.
