Doris June Stidman, a long-time resident of the Schulter community, died March 2, 2012 at her home in Schulter at the age of 67.
She was born in Schulter, June 29, 1944, to William Henry Stidman and Nettie Bell Crawford Stidman.
Doris grew up in Schulter and attended Schulter Public Schools. She married Will E. Frye Sr. in 1960 and from that marriage there was 5 children. Doris was married to John Thomas Counterman in Clearview June 20, 2005 and remained married until his death on October 4, 2011. She was a longtime member of the Clearview Assembly of God Church.
Doris is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, John Counterman; brothers, Troy, Leroy and Lloyd Stidman; and sisters, Wanda Hill, Margaret Hammer, Dawni Looney, Anne Crow, and Willine Mahan.
She is survived by her five children, Gabriella Ann Watkins and husband Kenny of Choctaw, Bobby Sue Frye and husband Curly of Schulter, Will Ernest Frye Jr. of Pharoah, George Henry Frye of Pharoah, and Mark Allen Frye and wife Keesha of Henryetta; nine grandchildren, Robert Black III, Brandy Frye, Gail Marris, Sky Frye, Sammijo Gryder, Stormy Frye, Montana Frye, Star Frye, and Will Frye III; 17 great grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Lynch of Schulter, Patsy Nucholls of Henryetta, Faye McGowin of Dewar, Susie Short and husband Darrell of Dallas, Tex.; her brother, Bobby Stidman and wife Debbie of Kusa; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.
Pallbearers will be Doris' children and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
A funeral service for Doris will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Dewar with Rev. Duke Britt officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Salt Creek Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
Viewing and visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 8pm and on Monday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
