Dorine (Towell) Hazelgrove, age 83 left this life to go home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, March 4, 2012 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Trafalgar.
Dorine passed away peacefully in the company of her husband of 66 devoted years, Robert J. "Bob" Hazelgrove, whom she married on June 20, 1945 in Plainfield, and her loving children: James Robert Hazelgrove of Brown County, Gloria J. (husband, Charlie) Thompson of Lily, KY, Ronald E. (wife, Patty) Hazelgrove of Edinburgh, Arline Hazelgrove of Seabreeze, FL, David L. (wife, Sandy) Hazelgrove of Brown County and Jeffery L. (wife, Angie) Hazelgrove of Columbus. She will be remembered by her fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorine was preceded in death by a grandson: Brian Hazelgrove while serving his country inIraq; and two sisters: Jacqueline Smith & Phyllis J. Canipe.
She was born August 7, 1928 in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Worth F. and Hazel Lillian (Blanton) Towell. Dorine was a homemaker and a fifty year member of the Locust Grove Pentecostal Church in Brown County. Other memberships include the Hickory Ridge Senior Center in Brown County and the Brown County 4-H, where she was a past 4-H Leader, She enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family, canning and baking. Dorine also enjoyed listening to books on tape.
The Rev. Jay Griffie will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 am, Wednesday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center,179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from4 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
