He was born April 23, 1940, in Buckfastleigh, Devon, England, a son of Edward and Jessie Wood Tucker.
Derek was a retired pharmaceutical salesman for Mead Johnson and attended St. Ann's Episcopal Church, in New Martinsville, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Samson and two brothers, William Tucker and Carlton Tucker.
Surviving are two sons, Trevor Tucker and Darren Tucker; two daughters, Kay Lynne Tucker and Devon (Jim) Kirk; a sister, Dorreen Cain; two brothers, Edward (Cathy) Tucker and Alan (Liva) Tucker; a sister-in-law, Ann Tucker; three grandchildren, Taylor Tucker, Troy Tucker and Gracyn Kirk; several nieces and nephews, including Elizabeth Rinehart and Carlton Roberton.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, 453 Maple Avenue, New Martinsville, with Rev. Richard Heller officiating.
Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
