Jacob "Jack" Schlussel was born in Tarnobrzeg, Galicia to Leibish and Zeisel (Flanzgraben) Schlussel. He immigrated with his mother and two brothers in 1897 to join his father in Manhattan.
Jack was naturalized in Sacramento, California in 1914 and settled in San Francisco where he spent the remainder of his life. He worked as a lawyer and importer.
