CLINTON — Marjorie L. McMahon, 88, of Clinton, Iowa died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Mercy North. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Marjorie was born July 12, 1921 in Clinton the daughter of Frank Marcus and Elta Clarice (Flack) Smith. She was a Clinton High School graduate. She married Adrian McMahon May 17, 1947 in Seattle, WA; he died October 11, 1960.
Marjorie owned and operated McMahon's Tavern for 45 years prior to retiring in 1989.
She had been a member of the Moose and AMVET auxiliary. She especially enjoyed spending time with her twin grandsons and her family.
Survivors include her great nephews, Robert Norem with whom she resided of Clinton, Terry Norem of Clinton, Steve Norem of Fulton, IL and Grant (Jan) Wilke of Clinton; great nieces, Debra (Dave) Witt of Camanche and Rhonda (Tom) Owens of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and 14 brothers and sisters.
