Harriet (Hattie) Mae Magner was born in Grundy Center, Grundy County, Iowa.
She lived in Iowa until she was about 10 years old when her parents moved to Nebraska. On 31 Oct, 1904, she married CHARLES LEROY ENWALL, in Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska. They had 11 children, all born in Nebraska: Hazel Faye (Roberts), Osa Mae (Lockwood), Franklin Leroy, Ivan Edward, Louis Emerson, Edson Woodrow, Lester Lloyd, Charles (Chuck), Gilbert Dale, Betty Marie (Emerson), and Shirley Lee (Adcock).
Charles and Harriet moved to Colorado as the family grew, living in Ovid, Sedgwick County, and Littleton, Arapaho County. She died in Greeley, Weld County, Colorado, and is buried beside her husband and son Gilbert at the cemetery in Ovid, Sedgwick County, Colorado.
Mrs. Enwall joined the Methodist Church in her teens, and was a very active member until her illness preceding her death. She was also a member of the Rebekah snd Royal Neighbors lodges in Littleton.
During her last illnesses at the Jewish Sanitarium and Colorado General Hospital she endeared herself to the nurses because of her patience and sweet spirit. Even in her most distressing periods of illness she never complained. Whenever her pastor visited her, she would answer his questions briefly about her condition, and then would immediately turn the conversation to ask about her friends and the church activities. She was very appreciative of the cards and remembrances from her church and lodge friends, and of the visits from her pastor. Little did she realize that she had many friends because she was so gentle, patient and kind. It was a tonic to her pastor's spirit to visit her and see how cheerful she was under such trying circumstances.
