Prussian Royalty. Born by the name of Friedrich Heinrich Albrecht in Königsberg, where his parents, King Friedrich Wilhelm III. and Queen Luise lived in Exile. His mother died the following year. In 1819 he joined the Prussian army and became general of the cavalry in 1852. He commanded the cavalry during the wars of 1866 and 1870/71. He married Marianne of the Netherlands in 1830. The pair had four children and was divorced in 1849. In 1850 he entered a morganatic marriage with Rosalie von Rauch, daughter of the Prussian minister of war. She was created Countess of Hohenau in 1853. She was not welcome at the court and the pair moved to Dresden where they built the Castle Albrechtsberg, where their two sons where born. His grave is under the Mausoleum and can't be visited.
