Born 15 November 1799 in Northumberland County, England and emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1824 with his father and sisters. There in London Township he met Mary Robson, who had emigrated from Cumberland County, England with her parents in 1819. Adam & Mary were married in London Twp in 1824. They had 13 children, and in 1851 moved from Ontario to Grant County, Wisconsin.
