Lindsey Agee, 70 of Cambridge, departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at his home. Born August 1, 1941 in Laurel, Mississippi, he was the son of the late John and Mahalia Combest Agee. Lindsey became a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Nora Davis Elementary School and graduated from Oak Park High School in Mississippi. After completing high school, Lindsey pursued his graduate education at Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi, where he actively participated in sports and played college football. He then relocated to Cambridge, Maryland where he taught school for over 30 years. His first school was Maces Lane High School where he was an Industrial Arts Teacher. Agee, as he was affectionately called, was also a Driver's Education Instructor, Bus Driver for Dorchester County Public Schools, CSD and Maces Lane Middle School Football Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach for Maces Lane Middle. In the community he served as a Supervisor of Summer Recreation and Adult & Youth League Basketball for Dorchester Parks & Recreation, bus driver for Tudor Farms and Pritchett's Transportation. Even after his retirement in 1999, he continued to show is concern and dedication to students through countless hours of substituting and volunteering until June 2008. In the late 1960's , Agee became a member of Pride of Cambridge Lodge #50 and Oziel Chapter #23 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church where he attended until his health failed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lennon Jefferson, Lindberg Jefferson and Lamar Jefferson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Cassandra Latreece Agee; three grandchildren, Antarius Da'Shawn Agee, Sha'Kyia Shi'Carmen Ta'Shawn Agee, Ar'Kayla Vontary Agee (all of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; one great grandchild, Londynn Lindsay Agee; a sister, Florence (Birthola) Henry (Soso, Mississippi); an aunt, Alberta Snow (Rose Hill, Mississippi); a godson, Zhaden Myster (Cambridge, Maryland) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 1pm at Waugh Chapel UM Church 425 High St Cambridge with a viewing Thursday evening 6-8pm with Masonic services beginning at 7pm and two hours prior to the services on Friday at the church. Final services will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Christian Valley Baptist Church Laurel, Mississippi. immediately followed by the interment in Nora Davis Cemetery, Laurel, Mississippi.
