Emma was born in Canada and came to America when she was about 10 years old (1880) with her parents. In 1893 she was naturalized and on July 3, 1893 she married Thomas Pickham from Ireland. They were married in Chicago, Illinois where they lived the rest of their lives. Emma was the mother to 5 children (Thomas, Mary, William, Martha and Dorothy).
