Based on additional research on Lucy Johnson and her family, she married Wash Kemp on Nov 23, 1882 in Bastrop County, Texas. The 1870 US Census for Lucy lists her year of birth as "abt 1863". In the 1900 US Census record, she stated she had 9 children, only 3 of whom were still living in 1900.
On July 27, 1905 she married a man by the name of John Willis. Her 1st husband Wash Kemp also remarried in 1907 indicating she and Wash divorced after 1900.
Sometime around 1930, Lucy married Oliver Hood.
In later death records found for her children and others she was the informant on, her 'married' name at the time was shown rather than her maiden name of "Johnson".
In the 1870 US Census the head of household is shown as Sam Johnson (presumably her father). He married a woman by the name of Hester or Easter Hubbard on Oct 22, 1866 in Bastrop Co., Texas (She was 16 at the time of their marriage) and given Lucy's age listed in that record (7), Easter/Hester Hubbard was not her birth mother.
All later census records for Lucy list a much earlier year of birth than the 1879 year of birth shown on her death certificate.
