Services Monday
Funeral services for a retired Leonard peace officer, Lee McMillan, 80, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the First Methodist Church. Mr. McMillan died Saturday night in Allen Memorial Hospital, Bonham, following a long illness. He would have observed his 81st birthday Tuesday, May 8.
The Rev. A. R. Morgan, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Jim Heflin. Burial was in Leonard Cemetery and Pat Wilson Funeral Service was in charge. Pallbearers were Arthur Lee Brown, Buford Davis, Everett Tarpley, Scott Jackson, Earl Latimer, and Alwyn Golden.
The son of the late Rev. J. K. McMillan, a Methodist minister, Mr. McMillan was born in Tennessee in 1875. He moved to Texas when a child, living first in Van Alstyne. He had been a member of the Methodist Church since early in his life. He was married to Miss Lela Conway at Pilot Grove on March 9, 1900.
Surviving are his daughter, Miss Enola of the home; a son, McMillan; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Otto Butler of Dallas and Mrs. A. T. Howell of Nocona and several nieces and nephews.
