Sir Gerard de Usflete (the lst, there were 3,!), died 1350-1. Married Margaret de Armine* of Osgodby in Lincolnshire (died c.1328), then second wife Ada .....? (died after c.1330-1). His third wife was Dame and later Dowager Isabella de Ellay (Isabel de Ella) who died sometime after paying the Poll-Tax of 1379 in Ousefleet/Whitgift in Yorkshire, where, apart from Swanland, via her demised husband still held property and other members of the Usflete family lived in that area, e.g., Nicholous (Nicholas) Oufflet/Ousflet (Usflete) and his wife also named Isabella are in the 1379 Poll-Tax returns for nearby Adlingfleet, so is a Robert de Haldenby.
Before c.1390s very few northern Wills have survived, but some would be found with manorial documents, etc.
Wills for Gerard's and Isabella's son (died 1404-5) and grandson (died in France 1420-l) do survive, both also named Gerard. - These Wills are now at the Borthwick (part of York University). Click-on pictures for a clearer view and to read extra text, also go to page 2 and later go to other persons surnamed Usflete on this site.
The Wills: because 5 pictures are maximum, I have condensed both Wills but all text is included.
* see Margaret de Armine (Airmine, Armyne, Armin, etc.) and her family coat-of-arms on this site.
