Monico was born in Victoria,Texas.His family
moved to CA where he grew up Haciendi Heights.
He enlisted in the Marines 10 days before his
20th birthday on 14 October 1967,at the Los
Angeles Recruiting Office.
He took his Boot Camp Training with Platoon 2203 from October to December 1967,at San Diego MCRD.
He arrived in Vietnam 10 May 1968 and was assigned to H&S Company,2nd Battalion,3rd Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.Monico was a Radio Man attached to Golf Company,
2nd Battalion,3rd Marine Division.
Monico died as a result multiple fragmentation wounds to his body from incoming mortar fire
while in a night defensive position,3 kilometers north northeast of Mai Loc Airfield.
Monico was single and served his country for 1
year,1 month and 12 days.KIA#35,159.
He had been in Vietnam for 6 months and 16
days.
Monico was 21 years,1 month and a days old.
Survived by his father;Monico Flores Sr and his
2 brothers;Gary Lynn Flores and Ronald Gene
