AUSTIN-REES, Peggy, of Richmond, Virginia, died September 19, 2008 following her courageous battle with cancer. Peggy had a long and distinguished career as a real estate broker. She was honored in her career as President of the Richmond Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors in 1981, President of the ERA Richmond Broker Council in 1991, President of the Virginia Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors 1992, Member of the Year of the Richmond Chapter and Virginia State Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors 1993, and Richmond Association of Realtors Honor Society 1995. She is survived by her husband, Harry E. Rees; three children, Debra Austin-Nolley, Kathryn E. Brantley and William Austin II; five grandchildren, three sisters, and one brother. The Memorial Service will be held at the Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Road, Mechanicsville, Virginia, Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or Bon Secours Hospice. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the wonderful support and care of Bon Secours Hospice. Services conducted by Angelus Funeral & Cremation Traditions.
