Rosemary Howell, 76, 3110 Burden St., formerly of 395 E. 16th St. passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Mary, surrounded by family.
Services will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3:30pm at the Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St. Dubuque. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 1:00 pm Sunday until the time of services at the funeral home. Rosemary was born August 16, 1935 in Dubuque, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Newcomb) Fox.
She married Dick Howell on April 27, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2009.
Rosemary worked at Stonehill Care Center for many years. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was totally dedicated to her family. It should be noted that she loved to play Chess.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dick (Connie) Howell Jr., Neilda Hernandez, and Mary (Brent) Leick, all of Dubuque; Adam Hurtig, a special grandchild who lived all his life with Rosemary and Dick; her other grandchildren, Chris Howell, Nick Howell, Mat Howell, Stephanie Howell, Liz Howell, Robbie Howell, Craig Howell, Wayne Gilbert, Rodney Amanda) Hurtig, Dick Hurtig, Travis (Dara) Leick, and Beth Leick Noah (Rhonda) Voels; five great grandchildren, Alexa , Ethan, Jaymes, Robert, Nathan; And one brother George Fox.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Rodney, and three sisters and three brothers
