THE LATE COUNTESS OF ST. GERMANS.
The following is an extract from a sermon delivered in St. Peter's, Donboyne, last Sunday, by the Rev. Dr. Tighe Gregory, who had been one of Lord St. Germans' chaplains during his lieutenancy in Ireland:---

"The pulpit is not the place from whence to eulogise personal or ancestral claims and distinctions, whether won in the cabinet or the field, but it is the place from whence to point the moral, to hold forth the example, and, by the latter, to impress religious reverence and regularity as referred to in the sacred scriptures, the ordinances of the church, public worship, and the household altar. Such, combined with the charity which bears with the errors, and relieves the wants of suffering humanity, form the bright emblazonments of the spiritual shield of the deceased Consort of Ireland's late victory, who, we trust, through the merits of Christ crucified, lives in glory, while her memory is embalmed, not alone in the hearts of her family and friends, but of all to whom virtue and religion are dear."
