Stanley was born on May 24, 1929, in South Bend, to Frank and Angela Tomaszewski Sr. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Betty and Agnes; and brothers, Walter, Frank Jr., Joseph and John.
On April 22, 1961, in South Bend, he married Mary Lee Cody, who survives. Also surviving Stanley are his daughter, Lorraine (Dave); sons, Larry (Linda) and Gary (Colleen); grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Gary Jr., Rocky, Nicky, Codye, Cassidy, Jeremiah, Gary, Cherri Brook, Robert O'Neal, Angela and Katelyn; great-grandchildren, Desirae, Christopher, Brandon, Austin, Cheyanne, Zachary, Breanna and Scooter; sister, Mary Wilson of Florida; niece, Sandy; and many other nieces and nephews.
Stanley loved his wife and family, and enjoyed fishing. He worked at Studebaker until it closed. He then worked at Joy Manufacturing for 26 years, and was also the co-owner of Mary Lee Kitchen for 11 years until retiring. He was a graduate of Washington High School, and a member of VFW Post 1167. He served in the United States Army Air Corps for eight years.
Visitation will be today, July 25, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
