Mrs. Anne Ruth Hendry, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida died peacefully surround by her loving family on Sunday, March 25, 2012 in which she was united with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was born September 30, 1933, in Decatur, Georgia. In 1964 she moved to Jacksonville where she was a homemaker, bank teller and loved working at Kuhn Florist. She will be remembered as a great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Anne was a very giving person to those she loved, as well as numerous charitable organizations. She had QVC on speed dial. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, loved country music and was always impeccably dressed.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Lillious and Ruth Baskette; and brother, Lamar Baskette. She leaves to cherish her memory, her dedicated and loving husband of 61 years, Gordon; three children, Terry Hendry (Nadine), Kathie Breton (David), and Deci Alvarez (Kris); four grandchildren, Kelley Hatton Gray (Brian), Tara Hendry Cole (Curtis), Scott Hendry (Jennifer) and Kevin Alvarez; four great grandchildren, Brianna Cole, Jake Cole, Jeremy Gray, and Laurynn Cole, brother, Donnie Baskette (Lesley), and sister-in-law, Beth Baskette. The family would like to thank the Mayo Clinic of Jacksonville, especially Dr. Ross Goldberg and Dr. Robert Shannon, along with their staff, for the wonderful care they provided.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29th at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m Friday, March 30th at Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Rd. 13, St. Johns, FL 32259 with Dr. Tim Maynard officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Anne was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
