Hersheal George McDonald, Sr. of Raleigh passed away on July 10, 2011 at the age of 87.
Mr. McDonald served his country during WWII as a United States Marine.
He was an active member of several Baptist churches, serving as Deacon and teacher. He was currently a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He retired from Burlington Industries as a Mechanical / Electrical Engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia Lynn McDonald; five children: Gwen Wall of Allendale, SC, Hersheal McDonald, Jr. of Lakeland Fl, David McDonald of Louisburg, NC, Gary McDonald of Raleigh, NC, Dwight McDonald of Allendale, SC; eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by one grandson.
A visitation will be held today Wednesday July 13, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11 am in the chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Jeff Roberts presiding, with burial to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, with military honors.
