CURTIS, Frederick Buchanan Sr. - Age 85, of Clio/Mt. Morris, died October 19, 2004 at home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2004 at the American Legion Post 64, G-4314 W. Carpenter Rd., Flint, MI. The family will be present to receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Legion Post 64. Fred was born October 25, 1918 in Flint, MI to Irvin and Lucille (Sears) Curtis. He had 3 brothers and 12 sisters. Fred served in the 3rd Army 9th Armored Division during World War II. Fred married Viola June Forrest May 24, 1947. Fred was a member of UAW Local 599 and retired from Buick in 1975 with 36 years of service. Fred served as Vienna Township Constable from 1963-1969. Fred was a Life Member of VFW Gordon R. Bennett Post 1452 and the American Legion Oakley Trayner Post 64. He was very active in both. Fred enjoyed family get-togethers, going to the casino, playing cards and watching football. Left to cherish his memory are: his children, Patricia and husband Jim Boroff, Barbara and husband Jerry Morley, both of Harrison, MI, Frederick Jr. and wife Janet of Atlas, Robert and wife Nancy of Clio, Randy and wife Linda of Mt. Morris. Also surviving are: 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Further survivors include: 1 brother; and 8 sisters; in-laws; nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Viola in 1995; infant son, Ronald; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
