~ My Beautiful Aunt ~
Funeral services were held last Friday morning at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for Mrs. Versie Pierce McNear, 25 years old, who died at the home of her father, Robert Lee Pierce, near Finley last Wednesday afternoon after a three months illness. Rev. D.L. Druien conducted the services and burial was in the Saloma cemetery. She was the daughter of Robert L. Pierce and Betty B. Pierce and was born in Taylor County on May 3, 1914. She is survived by her father Robert Lee Pierce, one son, Thomas Ray McNear; three sisters: Mrs. Eva Spratt, Taylor County; Mrs. Nellie Raley, Sullivan, Indiana; Mrs. Gay Stephens, Owensboro; three brothers: Roscoe Pierce, Leonard Pierce, of this county; Goodson Pierce, Mendota, Illinois; one half-brother; Charles Edwin Pierce, of this county.
