Died July 13, 2000 in Manns Choice, Pennsylvania, at her Daughter's home, where Ruth resided. Buried in Mountain State Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Elkins, West Virgina. Ruth was married to Freeman Fairfield Hayhurst on June 29, 1935 by the Minister Homer E. Wark of the M. E. Church in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Ruth and Fairfield had three children. They reared two of their grandchildren.
