Final rites were observed at 3 o’clock this afternoon for Raymond Lewis, 27, former resident of the Lane community who died Friday at his home in Friona, Texas, following an attack of pneumonia. The body was shipped to Lane and the funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Akin of Wolfe City, assisted by the Rev. M.C. Smith and the Rev. B.L. Peacock.

Active pall bearers were Raymond Verble, Lonnie Verble, Bill Verble, Claude Verble, Jim Griffith and P.L. New.

Mr. Lewis was born and reared in the Lane community and resided there until about three years ago when he moved to Friona with his parents. He was a splendid young citizen and friends everywhere will learn of his death with regret.

Surviving are his father, E.D.C. Lewis of Friona, three brothers, Roy Lewis and Emmett Lewis of Dallas, Henry Lewis of Royse City, and the following sisters, Mrs. Ralph Braddy, of Celeste, Mrs. Charles Looney of Dallas, Mrs. Carl Rosse of Lane and Miss Grady Lewis of Friona.
