HAMPTON - James E. Campbell, 66, died Monday, Dec. 18, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.
A native of Nelson County and a Peninsula resident since 1941, Mr. Campbell was former owner and operator of J.E. Campbell Plumbing and Air Conditioning Co.
He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Gloucester.
Mr. Campbell was a veteran of World War II and a member and 32nd degree Mason of St. Tammany Lodge No. 5 and Newport News Consistory Scottish Rite. He was a member of Khedive Temple and the Oriental Band.
Survivors include his wife, Jean T. Campbell; three daughters, Priscilla Woodmansee of Orlando, Fla., Gale Hill of Gloucester and Brenda Weiss of Hampton; two sons, Charles Campbell of Harvey, La., and Brian Campbell of Hampton; six sisters, Isabell Patterson of Hampton, Dora Smith and Inez Hollomon, both of Newport News, Alpha Dillard of Massey's Mill, Eva Wade of Thornburg and Lowrell Bryant of Lynchburg; two brothers, Howard S. Campbell and Wendall Campbell, both of Newport News; and eight grandchildren.
