Hercules married Dorothy "Dolly" Arckje and were the parents several children including;

12. Isaac married Dorothy Kook in Mecklenburg Co., NC, on Sept. 8, 1788.

New York records indicate that he was born in Tarrytown, Westchester Co., New York. He is considered by the DAR to have performed patriotic service for NC by having signed the Oath of Allegiance to make a land entry in Mecklenberg Co., NC, 25 FEB 1779. He is DAR Patriot A131080. Baptism: June 24, 1727: Herculius, son of Harreck Crancheyt and Feytie, shv. Wit: Herculius Lent and Cornelia, shv.

Hercules was baptized in the Old Dutch Church of Sleepyhollow (made famous by Washington Irving). He moved to NC by 1768. He married Dorothy, some say Artjke, and they had lots of children. Hercules moved to NC, then KY, and died in Clark Co., Kentucky. He never owned property in Ky., but had owned property in NC.

Hercules moved first into New Jersey [time period not known] and before 1768 from New Jersey to Anson, Mecklenburgh, North Carolina. Living in Charlottesville from 1779 on.
