CELESTE – Ira Hunter, 79, of Celeste died Thursday morning in a Leonard nursing home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Taylor Chapel in Leonard with the Rev. Robert Ridley officiating. Burial will be in Lane Cemetery.

Born Jan. 15, 1904 at Lane, he was the son of John and Delia Boren Hunter. He was married to Jestena Pierce Dec. 28, 1928 in Rockwall. Mr. Hunter was a retired grocery store owner and a Methodist.

Surviving are daughters, Mrs. E.W. Jenkins of Dallas and Ann Hunter of Leonard; and sisters, Cindie McGuire of Celeste, Pauline Lee of Fort Worth and Beulah Perkins of Dallas.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
