Clarence E. Vincent went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, while still residing in his home.

Clarence E. Vincent was born on January 27, 1911. He attended St. Elmo Elementary, Lookout Jr. High, and graduated from City High.

In 1993 Mr. Vincent was the co-founder of Vands Co Posters in Chattanooga. In the 40 years of operation of that company he designed equipment for screening posters, formulated and developed inks for outdoor advertising, and pioneered in the development of full color photographic reproduction silk screened for billboards. Under his leadership the company grew into one of the largest silk screen printers of posters for outdoor advertising in the country which now is known as Vincent Printing Co. Clarence and his wife, Jennie went on many international trips as members of People to People. While enjoying these trips Mr. Vincent was providing training to others in silk screen Printing process. In addition to the technical advances to improve printing quality and expand the scope of reproduction techniques, he has made many contributions to the Outdoor Advertising Industry, which his company served. He helped start the National Organization of Outdoor Advertisers which today is known as The Outdoor Advertising Association of America. He had been an active member in the formation of the Junior Poster Association and attended its first meeting here in Chattanooga.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, downtown Chattanooga, 33rd-degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Alhambra Shrine Temple. He was named Shriner of the year in 1972 and Chairman of the 1975 Tennessee Shrine Convention. He was also chairman of the Shrine Antique show for many years. From 1964 through 1971 he provided his company plane at no charge to transport children to the Shrine Burn Center and Crippled Childrens Hospital. He had served on the board of directors of the United Way Fund, was a member of the Half Century Club, the Chattanooga Big Game Club and listed in the 1954 in Whos Who in the South.

Clarence will always be remembered as someone who enjoyed life to the fullest and loved making others happy.

Mr. Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Vincent; and son, Milton Vincent.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Vincent, from Holden Beach, NC; grandchildren, Rebecca Vincent, Kimberly Vincent-Coates and great-granddaughter, Laura Abbott Coates Here in Chattanooga, TN, Roger Sesti; and great-grandson, Nathanael Joseph Sesti, of Tampa, FL, and Kim Sesti, of Georgia. He also left behind four wonderful caregivers, Rhonda Ball, Randy Kirk, Lebron Curd and Chanda Thompson who will always be thought of as family.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers please make donation to Hospice of Chattanooga or a charity of your choice in his honor.

The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN.
