She was raised in Billings and had many fond memories of growing up in Lockwood. She graduated from Billings Senior High in 1958. Mary Lou married the late Jacques Romeijn in 1963. Together they owned Continental Hair Fashions and La Reina School of Cosmetology. Later in life, she worked at Security Title Company, Caramel Cookie Waffle Shop and Sylvan Peak Enterprises. Although she held other employment, her favorite and most natural job was being a full-time mother.
Mary Lou was a wonderful and accomplished seamstress, quilter and gardener. She belonged to several quilting circles and enjoyed her time spent with friends. She also enjoyed fishing, reading, and crossword puzzles. She attended Lockwood Evangelical Church growing up and later on in life First Presbyterian Church on Poly Drive. She was a kindhearted and loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She touched the lives of many in her time on here on earth. Her long and arduous battle is over and she is free from her pain and suffering in this world. Fly high, Mom!
She is survived by her son Bryan Romeijn (Amanda) of Red Lodge, granddaughter Ella; son David Romeijn (Stef) of Tacoma, Wash.; and daughter, Aimee (Gary) Romeijn-Boen of Barrow, Alaska. Mary Lou also leaves behind her brothers, John (Bunny) Beck of Billings, and Jim Beck of Bothell, Wash. She also has several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she loved dearly.
She was also preceded by her son Brent Romeijn, and her brother, Ron Beck.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, at 11 a.m., at Harvest Church (Lockwood Campus) 1413 Rosebud Lane in Billings, with visitation at 10 a.m. Graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 1721 Central Ave., Billings, MT.
