Mrs. Roxy A. Bellinger, 84, died at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. C.L. Cowan, Onondaga av. She formerly lived in Herkimer and Little Falls, but came to this city six years ago to make her home with Mrs. Cowan. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Mary Heath of Utica, Mrs. Elizabeth Suiter and Mrs. M. Foley of Herkimer, Mrs. H. M. Knight and Miss Alice Bellinger of this city.

Mrs. Roxy A. Bellinger, mother of Mrs. J.A. Suiter, Jr., died at the residence of her granddaughter Mrs. Chas. L. Cowan, Syracuse, Nov. 28, 1913. Mrs. Bellinger was born at Shells Bush May 6th 1829, the daughter of Matthew Smith and was the last of the family of that branch. Her grandfathers on both sides were soldiers in the Revolution. Frederick Smith being a corporal of the Tyron Co. Militia and took part in the battle of Oriskany under General Herkimer, as also did Adam Nellis in the same command. Her father Matthew Smith was a soldier in the war of 1812 and went to Sacketts Harbor with the Militia from this section of the State.
Her funeral was held Sunday at 2 p.m. burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
She leaves four daughters besides Mrs. Suiter, Mrs. Mary Heath of Utica, Mrs. M. Foley of Herkimer, Mrs. H.M. Knights and Miss Alice Bellinger, Syracuse.
