TOWN DIES IN NORTHERN
HOSPITAL
John Blenker, pioneer of Wood
county, for whom the village of Blen-
ker between Stevens Point and
Marshfield is named, died a few
days ago at his home. He built the
first saw mill at Blenker and had a
leading part in developing his part
of Wood county.
Two months ago the deceased,
... was taken to
Northern Hospital at Oshkosh for
treatment from which place it was
hoped by all that he would soon re-
turn in his usual good health, but
fate ordered otherwise. He gradually
failed and before his death he was
brought home to end his last days on
earth amid the scenes where for so
many years he spent a busy life.
