She served as a Pink Lady at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of VFW Post 3802. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in DeQuincy, Louisiana. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved watching her grandchildren participate in their sporting activities and loved playing Pokeno with her friends. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Beckwith and Mae Beckwith.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawn Bennett Dyer and husband, Benny of DeQuincy, Louisiana and two sons, Joseph Brian Bennett of DeQuincy, Louisiana and Timothy Denmon and wife, Shalotta of Mobile, Alabama. One brother, Norman "Buddy" Beckwith and wife Jeanette of Broadus, Texas; one sister, R.E. Pickering of Silsbee, Texas and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Beckwith of DeQuincy, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Laikyn Cooper, Chase Dyer, Meghan Dyer, Joshua Kyle Bennett, all of DeQuincy, Louisiana and Tia Denmon, T. J. Denmon, Tece Denmon, Tracy Denmon and Tilton Denmon of Alabama and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mae Beckwith, four brothers, R. C. Williams, Freddie Williams, Ralph Williams and J. B. Beckwith; and one sister, Laverne "Boogie" Baack.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 8, 2012 from 4:00 - 9:00 P.M. and Monday, April 9, 2012 from 9 - 2:00 P.M. at Bible Baptist Church in DeQuincy, Louisiana. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. at Bible Baptist Church. Pastor Ron Fox and Dr. Ray Clark will be officiating. Interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery, Singer, Louisiana.
