Henry was born in NYC in 1872 to his parents, Adolph & Julia Seib Pflug, each of whom had immigrated to NYC from Prussia. The family moved to Elizabeth, NJ in 1877 so Adolph could work at the Singers Sewing Machine Factory. Henry also worked there as a young man. He eventually started his own real estate and insurance business.

Realtor and former Head of Elizabeth (N.J.) Excise Board

ELIZABETH, NJ. Feb 16, 1932--
Henry Pflug, a real estate and insurance broker and former president of the Board of Excise Commissioners here, died last night. He suffered an attack of heart disease after driving his automobile into the garage in the rear of his home.

Born in New York sixty-one years ago, he was a resident of Elizabeth for fifty-six years and was in the real estate and insurance business for twenty-five years. He was one of the founders and first president of the Junior Building and Loan Association. He was a member of the Board of Excise Commissioners for four terms and a member of the Republican city committee. He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Pflug; a daughter, Miss Edith Pflug; a son, Harry G. Pflug, cashier of the Elizabeth Trust Company, and a brother, the Rev. G. A. Pflug of Wenona, Ill.
